My favorite new automations in Shortcuts in iOS 14

Here are some of the best automations I've made so far using the keys from iOS 14. iOS 14 will be getting some major shortcut updates when it's released later this year. There are new features and folders, Apple Watch support and more. And it is not only apple scanner app. But my favorite changes center around automation.

In addition to having additional triggers when creating an automation, you can now set a time-based automation to run automatically. Currently in iOS 13, tap the notification and then tap Play if autoplay is set. But in iOS 1 4, the automation itself works at a set time, of course asking for use before allowing it. With so many new options, iOS 14 is my favorite automation.

Settings of Power saving mode are actually two types of automation based on iPhone power saving mode automatic control. For years I've wished Apple would allow us to set battery level thresholds to automatically turn power saver on or off. It doesn't implement this feature, but thanks to iOS 14

Shortcuts I created it myself.

This automation is based on a new battery level automation trigger. When you select this trigger, you'll see a slider that lets you set the exact battery percentage to trigger the automation. You can then choose how to start charging the battery automatically: when the battery level reaches this limit, falls below this limit, or exceeds this limit.

When automation was enabled in low power mode, I decided to turn on automation when my phone battery was below 20%. Then I added "Set Low Power Mode" and set it to "On". I use the same components in low power, where automation is disabled, and this automation only activates when the iPhone battery is above 50% and power saving mode is disabled. This is an easy robot to use, especially for test runs where battery drain is a real problem, but probably not. And since the battery level trigger allows you to turn off the question before playing, this launcher is truly automatic.

One of the most interesting new features of iOS 14 Shortcuts is the Apple Watch centric feature. Not just the functions of the watch, but the functions of the iPhone with which you use it. This pair of automatics is linked to the new Customize Watch Face feature.

I run almost every morning and wish there was a watch dedicated to that activity. But the face I wear is not one I want to wear all day. So it's automated. Both benefit from the fact that time-based automation can now be triggered automatically. The first automation started at 7:15 before I powered on and inserted a copy of the standard CD which was great for booting and tracking my progress afterwards. The second starts at 8:5 and sets the profile to the Infographic clock that I use most of the day. The Set Watch Face Action allows you to choose from a variety of watches available and is ideal for this type of automation.
